Muffuletta Sliders

If you have ever been to Central Grocery in New Orleans, you most likely ordered a Muffuletta sandwich. We would never claim to be able to make something as perfect, but these sliders are inspired by it and are a great way to bring a little bit of NOLA into your home.

12 Hawaiian Rolls
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1 garlic clove minced
1/2 lb thinly sliced ham or prosciutto
8-10 slices mortadella
8-10 slices genoa salami
16 slices provolone
1 cup muffuletta olive spread - we found ours at Whole Foods (Divina Muffuletta - this saves a lot of time!)
1 tbsp melted butter
1 tbsp olive oil
1/2 tsp oregano
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp pepper
1 clove minced garlic

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Slice slider buns in half.

Mix 1 clove minced garlic with the mayo in a small bowl. Spread on both sides of slider buns.

Layer the meats and cheese. ( We like to put cheese on the top and bottom layers.) Spoon the Muffaletta spread on top. Place tops of slider buns on top. Mix together the butter, olive oil, oregano and garlic powder and brush on top of buns.

Bake until tops are golden and cheese is melted-about 10 minutes.
